Principal’s Message

Dear HWW Students, Families and Community members,

We are looking forward to our Dance Showcase this coming Thursday!

Congratulations to Coach Gu, Coach Banza and our Jr Boys Basketball team for their strong silver medal finish in our annual “Snow Down” Classic. Thank you to Coach Pilley, our Senior Boys Basketball team, our Facility Team, and Sports Medicine Trainers for all your support.

If you are a GATE parent, we are looking for a parent volunteer to liaise between the HWW School Council and the GATE Parent Council. The commitment is not heavy; the GATE Parent Council meets 3-4 times a year and our HWW School Council once a month. If interested, please reach out to the Gate Parent Council.

It has been a busy week at Wise Wood in our final weeks of Semester 1. A reminder that this semester there are no final exams. Teachers have been working with students through the month of January to support students through credit rescue, task completion, and transitional supports. 

Regular classes, Specialized classes, and LEAD class are completed January 23. 

Teachers will continue communication with parents/guardians/ students about any remaining demonstration/ class attendance needed in credit recovery on January 26 and 27. 

Teachers will request students to come in for credit recovery January 26 and 27 based on the following considerations:  

Students have had valid reasons for missing content throughout the semester 

Students have engaged throughout the semester in course content, assignments and assessments 

Students are close to earning credit in the course 

Students are reminded to hand in textbooks before the beginning of Semester 2. Our Semester 2 courses will begin on Wednesday, January 28.
