Sandra Jeffrey Memorial Scholarship
VALUE: $2,500
ELIGIBILITY:
Open to students registered in Grade 12 at any senior high school in the Calgary Board of Education who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and demonstrate financial need.
Students are asked to submit a video or written statement of approximately 500 words outlining their need for economic/financial support and their passion for education and why they would like to pursue a career as a teacher.
Applicants must have demonstrated positive citizenship and leadership qualities as revealed by the participation in non-academic activities for the school and/or community.
Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one letter must be provided by a school official and the second can be provided from another school official or an employer or community leader representing a community-based organization. Selection will be based on the essay/video, references, volunteerism and financial need.

Opterus Rebel with a Cause Awards
Opterus is providing two scholarship awards for young women, between the ages of 18-26 and enrolled/will enroll at a Canadian post-secondary institution, who are pursuing a STEM or Arts educational path. The awards are inspired by Founder Janet Hawkins’ mother Dr. Helen McKilligin, and sister Valerie Ann Hawkins.

Kinsmen Club of Calgary Foundation Scholarship
VALUE: $1,000
ELIGIBILITY: Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must exemplify leadership as demonstrated through volunteer activities within the school and community and have academic requirements sufficient for entrance into their chosen program of study. Applicants are required to submit an original essay of approximately 500 words describing their volunteerism, how they have demonstrated leadership in their volunteerism and the impact they feel their service has had on the community. Applicants are required to submit one letter of reference. The letter may be provided by a community leader representing a community-based organization or a school official, and should speak to the applicant’s leadership, volunteerism and involvement in the community. Selection will be based on volunteerism, essay and the reference.

Bree Eriksen Memorial Dance Award Fund at Calgary Foundation
VALUE: $1,000
ELIGIBILITY: Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma and have achieved academic marks sufficient for entrance to a post-secondary area of study. Applicants must have demonstrated academic progress and have a minimum 75% GPA in grade 12. Applicants are required to submit an original essay of approximately 500 words. The essay should reflect on: Why you are choosing dance as a field of study? and What you are hoping to accomplish by getting accreditation? If you are not pursuing post-secondary studies in dance please describe how being involved in dance has impacted your life and share your plans for future involvement in dance.

Rudy Berger Memorial Scholarship
VALUE: $1,000
ELIGIBILITY: Open to students registered in grade 12 who are completing the requirements of a high school diploma. Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents and have academic grades sufficient to allow admission into their chosen field of study. The eligible fields of study are:
– Bachelor of Hotel and Tourism Management Degree
– Hospitality and Tourism Management Programs
– Culinary Arts Programs
– Baking and Pastry Arts Programs
– Food and Hospitality Programs
– Management and Society Programs
Applicants are required to submit an original essay of approximately 500 words or a short video (maximum 5 minutes in length) describing why they selected their chosen program of study along with a description of their career aspirations, and passion for the Culinary Arts / Hospitality & Tourism Industry.
