SECOND SEMESTER COURSES
As second semester approaches, students are reviewing plans for approaching courses. In thinking about this, it is critical students are considering:
· courses required to meet graduation requirements
· course recommendations to meet with best success in next courses
· program balance to ensure conditions for optimal success
If students find they need to make adjustments to second semester courses, links to a course change form as well as a form to request online courses has been emailed to all student CBE emails. Alternatively, QR codes for these forms are posted in the main office.
We cannot make changes to adjust classes to desired periods or teachers.
SEMESTER 2 IN-PERSON COURSE CHANGE REQUESTS
Please use the following link to request changes to your semester 2 course schedule.
There are important points and guidelines that you must be aware of:
1- Due to space constraints, grade 10 students cannot make changes to options courses.
2- Changes will not be made based on switching to a specific teacher (or switching out of a specific teacher's) class.
3- Teaching assignments often change, the teacher listed on your timetable may not be the teacher when the class begins on January 28.
4- If you are requesting a course that goes against Course Recommendations, you will need to initiate and complete the Course Sequence Change form process before we will make changes in PowerSchool. We want to program you for success and help build skills
5- Courses cannot be moved to different periods because of other commitments unless these have already been discussed with your counsellor or Assistant Principal. Students are expected to be available for classes during the times they are scheduled and for all periods of the 4 period school day.
6- This form will ensure that counsellors receive and address every student's request. Only one request is necessary. Once you have submitted you will not be able to change it, or submit again. Be thorough and thoughtful with your explanation of requests. Counsellors will only contact you if there are questions regarding your schedule. Please be patient and check PowerSchool often for changes to your schedule. If the change you have requested is not made before February it means your counsellor has looked and it is not possible due to your schedule, class capacities, balancing class sizes, etc. Go to the class on your schedule.
8- If your counsellor needs to see you in person to discuss timetable concerns, a course named "See Counsellor" will be added to your schedule.
In-person course change requests can be submitted through the following link: 2025-2026 Semester 2 Course Change Request Form – Fill out form
